Central Vermont is more easily accessible as a travel destination from the neighboring states of New York, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts compared to Northern Vermont, the Champlain Islands, and the Northeast Kingdom.
The Champlain Island are located north of Burlington on Lake Champlain and along the border with New York. The towns of South Hero, Grand Isle, North Hero, and Alburg call this area home and offer gorgeous waterfront views, dramatic coastlines, and accessibility to Lake Champlain. This is truly a unique area of Vermont and ideal for anyone desiring to live on or near the water.
The Northeast Kingdom of Vermont occupies the northeast corner of the state and offers a variety of attractions, cultural outlets, and outdoor adventure.
