Celebrities Speak Their Mind About Obama as President
Looks like Obama's path to reelection in 2012 is going to be a very rocky one. May and June are being pretty rough months for President Barack Obama in the United States. Polls on Obama have fallen gradually after he had a brief break from American people for finally killing Osama Bin Laden. However, the job creation problems, the now illegal war on Libya, and the overspending have taken a toll on the history of Obama as president.
An experienced celebrity that shared his point of view on Obama as president was Morgan Freeman. When asked by "The Hollywood Reporter" if he thought that he opened the doors of presidency for Barack Obama when portraying the American President in the movie Deep Impact, Freeman answered: "I don't think so. The people will accept a lot of things in the movies that they won't accept in real life".
Then, he was asked if he had met President Obama, he said he met him on a number of occasions. "He's a very nice guy. He might be just a little bit too regular to be the president of the United States ‘cause he's a young guy, he likes to play basketball".
Of the celebrities having problems accepting the current leader, you can easily remember Donald Trump. It's no secret that Trump and President Obama have a history together, and not a pleasant one. After desisting from the presidential race Donald Trump complained that the media is "too kind" to President Obama.
Trump said: "Nobody is protected like Barack Hussein Obama, nobody. I've never seen press that is so protective of a human being before". He even gave evidence of his words when he started talking about Obama signing the wrong date in Queen Elizabeth's official register during a trip to England. "I wonder what would have happened if George Bush had signed it "May of 2008"?" He said.
Another harsh critic came from Judith Ehrlich a filmmaker who's currently working on a documentary named 'The Most Dangerous Man in America: Daniel Ellsberg and the Pentagon Papers". Ehrlich said that Barack Obama has been the worst president for whistleblowers. She claims that Obama has indicted five whistleblowers counting Bradley Manning, the US army private accused of leaking over 250,000 diplomatic cables.
Like the other whistleblowers, Manning is waiting to spend his life in prison, or even execution.
Ehrlich added: "People have a right to know what their government is up to". "Secrecy is usually imposed by governments mainly to cover up mistakes from people within government".
Popular rapper Lupe Fiasco also added insult to injury when calling President Obama "a terrorist". Lupe said in an interview "To me, the biggest terrorist is Obama in the United States. I'm trying to fight the terrorism that's causing the other forms of terrorism. You know, the root cause of terrorists is the stuff the U.S. government allows to happen. The foreign policies that we have in place in different countries that inspire people to become terrorists".
The problem with this "lately" popular rapper is that he doesn't like to get involved in politics. He swears that he doesn't vote, and he'll never do it because it's meaningless. When asked days later if he was fine with his comments about Obama being a terrorist, Fiasco stood by his words. He even tweeted "I've got nothing to clarify. It's Obama and the U.S. government. Every president that came before him and every president that comes after him". Later, he noted that his influences are Malcolm X, Huey P Newton and Tupac Shakur.
