Does political ideology matter to you when you vote?
To me it doesn't. I have found that I am pretty much a libertarian on issues, although I can be liberal once in a while. But I vote for the person I think will do the best job. I really don't care if they think like me, as long as I consider them a good person, that's all that matters.
For example : I voted for ron paul in 88, ross perot in 92, bob dole in 96, nader in 2000, kerry in 2004, and Obama in 2008.
I considered them all good people and their political ideology didn't matter to me. I have herd plenty of people say, "well I think Obama is a good guy but he's too liberal for me!" and I say "yeah, he's too liberal for me too, but he's a good guy so i'm voting for him!"
And now that the elections over i'm glad I finally voted for someone who won!
To a degree but not totally. I generally vote Republican but if I believe the democratic candidate is going to do much better than the republican could I vote for the democrat, I voted for Bill Clinton in 96 because I didn't care much for Dole and I felt Clinton did a good job during his first term.
