What are some top shelf, genuine, russian vodkas?
I want the name of some top shelf Russian vodkas. Like the Russian equivalent if grey goose. I'm not talking about stolichnaya. I mean genuine, un-americanized, vodka.
When I lived in Moscow (2008-09) Russian Standard (Русский Стандарт) was considered the best vodka (it comes in a number of different versions) by most, followed closely by Moskovskaya and a couple others which I can't remember.
Jewel of Russia and Zyr are also supposed to be excellent but I never actually heard of them till I was elsewhere (i.e. out of Russia).
